~The delightful Truckee River that travels with you from Nevada to California, darting back and forth from side of the highway to the other.~

~The Truckee is an entertaining river as it travels along ~ sometimes moving rapidly and at other times, very calm and placid.~

~We drove beautiful northern Nevada into Donners Pass. WOW!!

~The sign overhead warns truckers of the downgrade for the next 40 miles.~

~The pine forests that go on for miles and miles and miles are soo beautiful!! I kept telling Mary to just drop me off and maybe I would be there on her return trip.~

Scenic view area on western slopes of Donners Pass was so incredibly beautiful it almost brought me to my knees.

We met 2 men here that were friends who had not seen each other for 20 years ~ They took our picture and we took theirs.~

Sometimes the snow was clear up to the edges of the road ~ other times way off on the peaks.~

~With this lake and Donner Lake, one can't help but wonder ~ which is bluer, the sky or the water.~

We spent the morning cleaning the cab of the truck (getting ready for company), doing laundry, and showers so we would be ready for our company!

Today we travelled from Ripon to Vallejo to load the truck and back through Donners Pass to Boomtown, Nevada.

~An awesome snow peak that we could see from miles away ~ so beautiful!~

We came from 9 feet above sea level at Vallejo, CA to te Donner Summit. Let me tell you, that will make your ears pop!
